Bands Interested In Performing at CMW (Canadian Music Week)

Bands interested in performing during CMW, which runs from March 11-14, 2009, should visit www.sonicbids.com/cmw2009.

Submissions are currently being accepted and only through Sonicbids. The bands will also have the chance on a weekly basis to be spotlighted in the “Artist Feature” on the CMW homepage. Entrants also receive a year’s free subscription to Canadian Musician magazine.

In 1951 Todd Storz and Bill Stewart turned around Nebraska-based radio station KOWH by establishing the Top 40 format. In 1952 Alan Freed hosted the “Coronation Ball” and in 1953 Elvis Presley walked into the Memphis Recording Service. Many argue over when exactly rock n’ roll was born but there are definitive people and events that were irrefutably crucial to its development.
